More about Durban - Flying lessons in South Africa
As well as flying lessons there are many things to do in Durban - such as visiting game reserves and the mountains, fishing, water sports and culture.
Durban is South Africa's most popular holiday resort. A major reason for this is its 'endless summer'. The sea is pleasant to swim in all year round. A few cool days - most Europeans would call them sunny and warm! Water related opportunities abound - rock, surf and deep-sea fishing, yachting (for fun or learn to be a skipper), whale and dolphin watching, canoeing, paddling-skiing and surfing. Talk about flying fish!
The Natal Coast is famous for its shad 'run' when these tasty game fish abound. Another not to be missed experience is the coast's annual 'sardine' run - known as the greatest shoal on earth - when millions upon millions of these small fish swim up the coast and them disappear. Durban is surf city!
Durban is famous for is wave surfing. The July winter surfing contest draws the best surfers from all over the world for 10 days of competitive surfing and fun in the sun. Paddle skis and canoes can also be hired. Take a lazy paddle up the Umgeni River that runs through the city, or enjoy the tranquility of an evening paddle on the bay. Flying horses, wings and cricket ballsDurban caters for just about every sport including tennis, hockey, swimming, and, of course, soccer rugby and cricket.
